Procession
Erica faces the wedding guests. James steps in and stands on the right side of the “altar.”
Dina, escorted by her two sisters Dawn and Michelle, walks down the aisle and joins James at the altar, standing on his left side.
Invocation
Welcome, family and friends. Thank you for joining us in this breathtaking place to support James and Dina as they join hands in marriage. We also take this moment to remember our departed loved ones whom we wish could be with us today.
James and Dina, you met in a snowstorm. While snowflakes fell outside, you found the first spark of friendship over a bourbon Old Fashioned. As you grew closer over time, you shared new adventures together. You made treasured memories and endured difficult trials hand in hand.
Through illness and loss, happiness and love, you created a home in each other. Today we strengthen that home with lifelong commitment.
James and Dina, you have our love and support as you now take your vows. Please turn toward each other and join hands.
Declaration of Intent
Only join one hand so the other hand is free to hold the index card with your written vows. Erica now hands you your vow cards.
James, when you are ready, you may share your vows.
I take you, Dina, to be my wife and partner. I promise to spend my life with you experiencing new things, and seeing new places. I quickly discovered your love through your devotion, dedication, and hard work. I've seen that love grow in patience and faith. Your simple acts of kindness show me your love, and how special you are. The sense of adventure and excitement you have for your passions, inspires, and motivates me everyday. The moments I cherish most in life are the ones where we discover new places and have amazing adventures together. Dina, you are the most dedicated person I've met. And just like you have never given up on me, I promise to always be here for you.
Dina, when you are ready, you may now share your vows.
I take you, James, to be my husband and partner through life. I promise to be your comfort and warmth. I promise to be your rock both in good times and whatever trials may come. I promise to listen to you and learn from you; support you and accept your support. James, you are my strength and my light. You understand and love me in ways I never thought possible. I will forever love the song in your heart, I will forever love your kind and beautiful soul. In this moment, as we become husband and wife, I commit myself to you. I trust you with my life and with my love.
Erica takes the index cards and hands each of you your ring.
Exchange of Rings
These wedding rings symbolize love and commitment. They serve as a daily reminder of the promises you’ve made here today. They will also stand as witnesses to the life you build and the love you share.
James, place this ring on Dina’s finger and repeat after me, “With this ring, I marry you.”
Dina, place this ring on James’ finger and repeat after me, “With this ring, I marry you.”
Dina hands Erica the rosary. Erica loops each of your hands with a figure-eight.
With your grandmother’s rosary, I bind your hands in this symbol of eternity and new beginnings.
Pronouncement
James and Dina, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
